Spencer Recovery Center’s Counselor Training Program is offered to rehab patients, after intensive inpatient detox treatment for alcohol and drug addiction in Laguna Beach, California and other treatment center locations who are ready to invest in their future while still undergoing treatment. The year long program is for those interested in working in the mental health field. While in treatment, the extended care participants gain the tools to enroll in school as well as find jobs and internships in the area. At Spencer Recovery Center, our mission is to help individuals gain the fundamentals necessary to live a happy, sober life, coping with PTSD. We have had much success helping people find happiness in long-term sobriety through our integrative wellness programs and now, through this training program.
Those without long-term goals have one of the highest rates of relapse due to not understanding the long-term consequences of their actions. With Spencer Recovery Centers Counselor Training Program, treatment is not a punishment or a disciplinary action as much as it is a chance to have a new life with a solid foundation, PTSD coping skills, an excellent support system, and concrete goals.
All clients in the Counselor Training Program must participate in all activities of the treatment program for which they are attending. Clients need to be sober and stay involved in a Twelve Step program. They must submit to random drug testing as set forth in the rules by the training program. Participants are required to seek employment and enroll in school or another training program with the help of staff and educational counselors at Spencer Recovery Center.
